"Alexander the Chechen" is about a Chechen orphan boy Ali who was adopted by the Russian general Raevsky. Later he took part in many military campaigns and finished his service as a general. The story "Zakhar of the Chechens" is based on the friendship between the Russian poet M.Lermontov and the Chechen artist P.Zakharov. Through the prism of this friendship, the author considers the complicated relations between the Russian and the Chechen people.
