But back to the war winter of 1941/42. Despite the order "to hold the position at all costs" over the German Wehrmacht threatened to repeat the fate of Napoleon's army. The front was broken, and the Red Army was held in the south of the initiative. At the cost of enormous efforts of Stalin's favorite General Zhukov to stop the offensive against Moscow in late January. The plan "Barbarossa" was torn down, and the most in this were to blame for four long, endless months of the harsh Russian winter. In March, again repeated the terrible snowstorm, but they were followed by a thaw. Then again, all roads have turned into a swamp.
