Alexander Maykapar (born December 4th, 1946) is a Soviet and Russian clavecinist, organist, musical expert, Merited Artist of Russia, a grandson of Samuel Moiseyevich Maykapar (18 December 1867 – 8 May 1938) who was a Russian romantic composer, pianist, professor of music at the St. Petersburg Conservatory, and author of a number of piano practice pieces. The book is a kind of autobiographical novel.
