Imre Nagy was a Hungarian politician who became a symbol of fight for independency and dignity of Hungary. The author of the book T.Merai, famous journalist, was the first biographer of I.Nagy and knew him personally. The book was written in 1958 and became one of classical historical works on the history of Hungarian Revolution of 1956.
