The book presents 696 monuments related to the Estonian War of Independence and dedicated to the Knights of the Cross of Freedom (memorial columns, stones, crosses, memorial plaques, Rahu Church, chapel, inn, school building, church gate, church tower, etc.). Most of the columns or memorial plaques were dedicated to those who fell in the War of Liberation, military units or victims of the Red Terror, others marked the sites of military operations or marked the place where the enemy's advance was stopped. During the Soviet occupation, most of the statues of liberty were broken, damaged or hidden, but the memory of the monuments remained. As soon as conditions permitted, vigorous restoration began. By 2022, only 14 (in addition to 6 beyond the control line) monuments erected in the first period of independence have not been restored. In addition, 83 new memorials and 103 signs were erected in memory of the Knights of the Cross of Liberty and another 23 in memory of the Allies. The book also records the names of all those killed in the Revolutionary War, which are located on plaques or pillars.
