The paper has a two-fold purpose. It concerns productivity of Russian firms that received foreign direct investments, and domestically owned firms. Furthermore, the research surveys spillovers from foreign-owned firms to domestic firms.
The paper studies the effect of liberalization of imports and direct investment on Russian firms. Using the firm-level data from 1993-2000, the work finds that competition with imports and FDI exerts positive effect on domsestic firms.
