The book is a transcription of folk legends about the legendary thinker and public figure of Kabarda Zhabagy Kazanoko (1685-1752 the dates of his life are tentative, since more reliable information has not been preserved). Oral stories about an outstanding personality, who enjoyed unquestioned authority among his contemporaries, eventually became the basis of a whole cycle of folk legends, spread throughout the region and became known even beyond its borders.
