The monograph presents an attempt to study one of the facets of the research and artistic heritage of Yu.N. Tynyanov, a domestic researcher, theorist of literature and cinema and at the same time a writer, creator of literary and historical works. The subject of the analysis is the novella by Yu.N. Tynyanov "The Wax Person", considered in the aspect of the theory of literary evolution of the scientist, in connection with which the cultural field of research has been expanded to include court literature of the 18th century, folklore and Old Believer works, historical fiction of the 19th and 20th centuries.
