The book "Your image, firefighter, is written with the pen of immortality!" was presented by rescuers on the eve of a professional holiday in Gomel, BelTA learned from the regional department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
This publication is dedicated to the history of the development of the fire service and rescue service of the Gomel region. In essence, the book is a chronicle of rescuers of the southeastern region of the country.
This book is not only about the history of the service, but also about people who risked their lives to save others, about a profession that combines courage, professionalism and humanity.

The work on the book lasted about two years. Its author, the head of the fire service museum of the regional department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations Alevtina Klimovich, did a large-scale, meticulous job. A huge amount of documentary and photo information was collected, which is placed on more than 900 pages of the publication. "
Veteran of the service Nikolai Maksimyuk explained that the history of the department is written by the actions of people who perform feats and save lives every shift. "Nothing can preserve memory and history better than a book," he is sure.
As explained in the Gomel Regional Department, each chapter of the book is an objective cross-section of history at its various stages. The narrative is accompanied by images of copies of decrees and other historical documents, drawings of technical equipment, old photographs of fire brigades, representatives of volunteer fire societies and, finally, the first fire brigade of the Gomel region and the Gomel Volunteer Fire Society.
