The conference was attended by about 70 scientists from scientific, university and museum centers of Crimea, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Krasnodar, Rostov-on-Don, Azov and other cities of Russia. Researchers in the field of classical and medieval archeology and the history of the Black Sea region discussed topical problems in the field of archeology and history, as well as new discoveries made during large-scale security and rescue excavations in Crimea and southern Russia in recent years. Before the start of the conference, the management of the Demetra Foundation held a presentation of new books published with charitable funds, which are undoubtedly important for replenishing the library fund of museums and universities. The conference participants also made an excursion to the 19th century Kerch fortress, built by E.I. Totleben.
