The book traces the unearthing, study, and scientific circulation of written monuments captured during excavations in the territory of Turkmenistan. The history of the writing of the holy book "Avesta" in the Achaemenian era, its parts that have come down to us, and the history of books related to Turkmenistan in the Parthian and Sasanian periods are described. At the end of the book, the translations of English and Russian books from the Achaemenian, Parthian and Sassanian eras into Turkmen language are placed in the "Appendix". They are ancient and valuable sources that are not yet known to Turkmen readers
