The book is the next volume of the multivolume encyclopaedia 'Languages of the World' prepared by the Institute of Linguistics of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The book under consideration describes languages and dialects of the three linguistic families - Kartvelian, Abkhaz-Adygean and Nakh-Dagestanian - extinct and modern, spoken in the Caucasus on the territory of Russia, Azerbaijan and Georgia.
