Jan Sniadecki (1756–1830) was a Polish (though born and lived in the actual territory of Lithuania) mathematician, philosopher and astronomer at the turn of the XVII-XVIIIth centuries. He was rector of Imperial University of Vilna, a member of the Commission of National Education, and director of astronomical observatories at Krakow and Vilna.
