Once upon a time, events took place in Vilnius, the fate of people living in the neighborhood included the author himself, and a quarter of a century ago his attention shifted to 1941–1944, when the author became interested in the fate of Jewish rescuers - Juozapas Stakauskas, Vladas Zemaitis, Marija Mikulska. The author learned dramatic and hopeful stories from the stories of people who lived in Lithuania, found themselves in Israel, Poland, France and the USA, and found documents in archives. One of them is told in this book.
