World War II had just ended. A graduate from a small town, Alina is initially an enthusiastic student who, despite the difficulties, does not lose her optimism and takes the Soviet propaganda on trust. Further she is a dreamy applicant, whose dreams of education constantly run into obstacles. In the end she is a teacher in a village, where she experiences changes and gains experience. Many things have to be reconsidered in the vortex of usual and unusual events.
