The National History Museum of Latvia has published the book While there is still time. The beginning of photoethnography in Latvia, dedicated to the early photographs in Latvia, in which evidence of the disappearing traditional cultural heritage is purposefully documented for ethnographic research - rural landscape with the construction of traditional farmers' and fishermen's homesteads, the layout of fields, meadows and gardens, techniques and tools for various works, household items, clothes, traditions - as well as the anthropological types of the population characteristic of the regions of Latvia.
