In the year 1903, the Bulgarians from Macedonia and Odrinska Thrace wrote with their blood a glorious page in the history of our nation. United by the self-sacrificing belief "Death is better than Scottish life!", the Bulgarians who rose up on Ilinden, Transfiguration and Crossroads shook Europe with their determination to be hostages of the despotic Ottoman Empire.
