The collection contains archival records and materials concerning the life of war prisoners of the Wehrmacht and its allies in the Stalingrad region in 1943-1954. On the basis of the declassified files of the State Archive of the Russian Federation, the State Russian War Archive of the Federal Security of the Russian Federation, the history of capture, living conditions of the war prisoners in the city of Stalingrad and the region are reconstructed. The collection includes memoranda, communiques, reports, and other informational and analytical materials that reveal the state authorities policy concerning the war prisoners and the way this policy was conducted on the local level. Out of 290 documents included in the collection 269 are published for the first time. The collection is supplemented with introduction, comments, and necessary indexes.
