The book by A.V.Shishov, a famous military historian and writer, is dedicated to the war conflicts of the XXth century, from English – Boer war of 1899-1902 to the Chechen conflict in 1991-2006. The author tells about all the significant intergovernmental conflicts (the so called local wars) of the past century, about the civil wars, national liberation movements, revolts, coups and religious-political collisions in different countries of the world, in colonial and semi-colonial possessions.
