Serhiy Zhadan's new book is a story that is always relevant, especially today. This is a story of love for Ukraine. We remind you that the author was a Ukrainian writer Serhiy Zhadan, who deeply and sensually revealed all the facets of the project through words. This is how he says about the project: “The figure of the Embroidered is non-trivial, interesting, deserves all kinds of mentions and studies. The arrival of Vyshivany in Ukraine, the acceptance of identity - this is not just history. It is interesting to see how many people are discovering Ukraine, Ukrainian history, Ukrainian culture, the Ukrainian language. " The libretto has already found its fans and even won an award in the competition "Best Book Design 2020", which is held by the International Festival "Book Arsenal" in cooperation with the Goethe Institute in Ukraine. This award is quite justified: the creative tandem of Zhuk & Kelm created a real pearl. Designer Nadiya Kelm wrote about the work as follows: “Vyshyvany got his nickname from Ukrainian soldiers because he liked to wear an embroidered shirt. This was the starting point for the visual solution of the book. We took a very geometric scheme of embroidery, which grows with each section, more and more revealing the portrait of the Embroidered. Perforated pages - an allusion to the Ukrainian vytynanka.
