In Russian scientific and historical literature, the question of the birthplace of the most prominent figure of the Russian Middle Ages, Tsar Boris Fedorovich Godunov was not seriously raised until recently. On this issue, the 1st edition of this book (2009) by Alexei Nikolaevich Pugachev, a member of the Union of Local Historians of Russia, received positive assessments from several Russian historians. Over the next 15 years, A.N. Pugachev continued to study this topic. Therefore, the 2nd, enlarged edition of his work, in the development of the begun topic, continues to deeply and comprehensively consider the Vyazemsky region as the small homeland of Boris Godunov.
