The book tells the story of the life and work of Vyacheslav Kazimirovych Lypynskyi, a prominent Ukrainian social and political figure, historian, and political scientist of the beginning of the 20th century. As an ideologue of Ukrainian conservatism, he laid the groundwork for a new direction of Ukrainian socio-political thought, which in the interwar period gained considerable popularity among the Ukrainian emigration in Western Europe, Canada, the USA, and later in Latin America and in western Ukrainian lands. The ideas born in the pre-revolutionary period were developed by V. Lypynskyi into a coherent theoretical concept of the future development of the Ukrainian state after the defeat of the Ukrainian national liberation struggle in 1917–1921. Thanks to the work of the scientist, a real revolution of the populist worldview took place, which deprived him of his monopoly positions in the formation of ideological guidelines of Ukrainian citizenship . The actor's historical works initiated the formation of the school of statesmanship in Ukrainian historiography and public opinion. For the first time, a significant corpus of documentary sources was introduced into scientific circulation.
