Great people are born in great epochs. V.I.Muravlenko, the main character of the present book, belongs to the glorious cohort of outstanding creators of the soviet time. It is difficult to overestimate the contribution he made to development of natural sources of Western Siberia, its oil and gas fields, as well as to transformation of the harsh region. Not by chance the modern experts in oil and gas industry think, that even today, 30 years after V.Muravlenko’s death, the country is supplied with reserves and facilities, which were created during his work. To express their respect, his descendents and successors gave his name to a town, some streets, an institute, a public fund and a mountain peak in Eastern Siberia.
