It is dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the discovery of the location of Tanais (1813) and the 170th anniversary of the beginning of its archaeological study (1853). The first issue of the Tanais Bulletin was published in 1994; the 2nd, in 2007; the 3rd, in 2012; the 4th, in 2017; and the 5th, in 2019. The sixth issue of the Tanais Bulletin is dedicated to the results of archaeological research at Tanais and its surroundings, the collections stored in the depositories of Archaeological Museum-Reserve "Tanais", the use of experimental methods in archaeology, museum practices, the history of archaeological research at Tanais, the past and present of the museum-reserve "Tanais", and the history of Don archaeology.
