This fifth edition of the book is likely to be the final one, as the author believes that all available archives have been explored, and all maps and documents related to over 12 years of research on the history of the Islands have been found. Notably, the very first map of the Vasilchikovsky, Mordovinsky, and Talovy Islands—created during the survey conducted from August 17 to 19, 1807—was discovered. In other words, the documented origins of the islands’ history have been fully traced.
