The readers get a chance to enjoy the materials of the unique correspondence between Russian sculptor Vadim Abramovich Sidur and Karl Eimermacher, a German specialist in the study of Slavonic literature, principal of the Lotman Institute of Russian and Soviet Culture in Bochum. The correspondence lasted 15 years beginning from 1971 till 1986 and it contains a great number of interesting events, facts and a lot of other things, which can be called the evidence of the epoch. But the core point of the book is that the letters introduced in the book represent first of all a dialogue between the two contemporaries, friends, like-minded persons living on different sides of the iron curtain.
