The author is the famous photographer Anatoly Kovtun. In 1974, he, a young TASS correspondent, was lucky to make a photo sketch of Vasily Shukshin. The shooting took place in Shukshin’s apartment in Moscow, as well as in the suburbs and on the set of the film “They Fought for Their Contry”. But, despite the excellent work, they managed to release an album about Shukshin only 30 years later, in 2004. New edition of “Shukshin. 1974 ”was prepared by the museum on the basis of the negatives that Kovtun transferred to the GMILIKA last year. In the photographs, Shukshin is captured in the way that only the closest people saw him - surrounded by family, with friends and colleagues, on vacation and at work.
