The monograph is devoted to a new scientific direction in urban planning science - urban planning limology, which studies the issues of existence and development of settlement systems under the influence of border factors. The theoretical foundations of urban planning limology, its place among limological directions of related sciences and in architectural and urban planning science, limological methods of studying settlement systems are developed. Examples of the practical impact of border factors on settlement systems are given. A limological analysis of settlement systems of border regions of the Russian Federation along sections of the new state border is carried out. Transboundary effects with settlement systems of neighboring countries are considered.
