The book is devoted to the issue of the language of the Van cuneiform inscriptions:
Urartian, and its interrelationship with Armenian. The common word roots are thoroughly
discussed and the Urartian grammatical and phonetic systems are compared to those of
Armenian. An attempt is made to present the historical-comparative grammar of these
languages proceeding from the assumption that Urartian has, as its base, the Armenian
language.
