The monograph examines the problem of formation of the Ukrainian Cossacks as a social class. The legal, economic and spiritual fundamentals of the Cossacks formation are analyzed. In this book the ethnic make-up and population of the Cossacks on the eve of the War for the National Liberation, were estimated more precisely. The process of making their world outlook and ideology a part of the national self-consciousness of the Ukrainian people is studied.
