The book by Ukrainian Catholic University professor Oleksandr Zaitsev is the first monographic study covering the entire parliamentary activity of Ukrainian parties in interwar Poland. In the interwar period, "Polish" Ukrainians had at least one significant advantage over the "Soviet" Ukrainians: they lived in the state that evolved from parliamentary democracy to authoritarianism, but never became totalitarian. There they enjoyed the real right to vote and be elected and could legally fight for their rights, including in the parliament.
