The album includes icons painted between the second half of the thirteenth century and the seventeenth century, which have been attributed to Tver mainly by virtue of their style. In most cases this stylistic affinity has been confirmed by evidence of their provenance either from Tver or from the various cities, towns and territories of the Principality of Tver. Each annotation is furnished with a bibliography and a list of exhibitions at which the icons listed have been shown.
