The monograph publishes for the first time the materials of the outstanding researcher of the North, Siberia and the Far East Viktor Nikolaevich Vasiliev, obtained by him in the Tunguska ethnographic sub-order (1926-1928) within the framework of the Commission for the Study of the Productive Forces of Yakutia of the USSR Academy of Sciences. It presents a physical-geographical description of the research areas, a brief historical essay and data on the territories of settlement of the clans of two large ethno-local groups of the Aldan-May and Ayan-Okhotsk Tungus. It describes the economic situation of the Tungus, and shows the features of their domestic and economic life.
