On 17 November 2019, we commemorated the 30th anniversary of the Velvet Revolution. On the occasion of this round anniversary, the Faculty of Mass Media of the PEVS and the Institute of State and Law of the Slovak Academy of Sciences organised a conference entitled Truth, Lies and Freedom of Speech. The conference was officially opened by the President of the Slovak Republic Zuzana Caputova. Journalists, sociologists and philosophers, as well as lawyers, actively participated in the conference to discuss various aspects of freedom of expression. This collective monograph is an interdisciplinary contribution to the subject.
