Miroslav Kotrha's study is the first to appear in the journal, in which the author deals with the position and roles of the county governors of Trencin during the reign of the kings of the Arpad dynasty in Hungary. Maria Letzova examines the ideal of women in the Central European space of the early modern period in the light of the sermons of Peter Pazman (contemporary ideas about the social status, education and roles of women in the family and religious life; Pazman's ideas on the education of girls, their role in marriage and moral values, comparing his views with the works of contemporaries such as Jan A. Komensky and A.M. Szenci). The study thus offers a broader picture of the formation of the feminine ideal within the Catholic and Protestant milieus of the early modern period. Petr Rybarik's study deals with the gunsmithing in Trnava in the 18th century (the development and its position within the local economy, the activity of Trnava rifle makers on the basis of contemporary archival sources, especially tax books and registers, individual masters and the period of their activity; the guild organisation, economic conditions and opportunities for craftsmen in a period when the demand for firearms was influenced by military conflicts and the growing needs of the Home Guard). A study entitled Jewish Immigrants in Transylvania in the 20th Century. The Case of the Slovak Jew Izso Diamant and the Birth of an Industry by Attila Varga focuses on the migration of the Jewish community to Transylvania in the first half of the 20th century (the social integration and economic contribution of the community in the region; the story of Izso Diamant, a Slovak Jew who founded an industrial enterprise for the production of wires and nails in the town of Campia Turzii in 1920). The review section critically evaluates important historical publications, while the annotations provide brief information on recent scholarly work in the field of history. Reports on conferences and other scholarly activities are also included.
