Monograph. The book talks about the totemic signs of animals in the "Manas" epic. S. Orozbakov, S. Karalaev's variants are the main ones, M. Muslimankulov, B. Sazanov, Sh. Rysmendeev's options were considered additionally. Totem animals and the differences of their totemic signs, diachronic and synchronous status, archetypal models and genetic origin were analyzed. Psychological, anthropological, historical- ethnographic points of view were allowed, and complex investigations took place.
