The 2nd part of trilogy. A free sequel to Curda Made of Clay, this time focusing on the war years 1944-1945. Allies in Normandy, darkness in the Protectorate. Germany still occupying most of continental Europe. The Third Reich is waging all-out war and never ceasing to raise dark specters. The final months of World War II and the Protectorate are a time of accelerated time, a confluence of dramatic events and the unravelling of many stories. Some die of exhaustion at the end of the war, others take their own lives surrounded by the enemy, many cowardly escape, others search for their loved ones, lost and stranded... Three documentary stories tell three Czech stories. The fates of unspectacular heroes, but also of their persecutors, tormentors and murderers. The first one tells the story of the arrest, the concentration camps and the death of the painter and writer Josef Capek. The second tale recounts the dramatic life journey of Czechoslovak paratrooper Vladimir Hauptvogel, dropped into the Protectorate's lion's den as part of the CHALK parachute group at Easter 1944. The protagonist of the last story is Josefina Napravilova, a woman who after the war searched Europe for the scattered Lidice children.
