The author focuses her attention on the idea of Turkic solidarity that should be reflected not only in cultural, linguistic and ethnical unity but serve as a guiding line of historical development as well. Besides literary writings, press, archival sources of governmental, presidential and parliamentary structures and public organizations, the author makes a wide use of the materials of field researches carried out in 1996-1999 in the Crimea and Northern Caucasia.
