Lesya Lysak-Tyvonyuk was born on April 14, 1921 in the village of Virliv, now Ternopil district, into a teacher's family. She graduated from high school in Przemyl in 1939. She taught and studied by correspondence at the Pedagogical Institute. During the German occupation she studied at a theater school in Lviv. At the end of the war she emigrated. In 1950 she arrived in the United States and settled in Buffalo. Worked in trading companies. She died on August 8, 1981 in Mount Albert, Canada in a car accident. Buried in Buffalo.
