There are people who seem to have absorbed an entire era. The writer Valentyn Chemerys lived a long life (1936-2016), retaining his creative activity until his last breath. The author's track record is impressive: during his life he published more than 70 books (including about 20 in the publishing house "Folio"), these are historical novels, fiction, novels, essays, collections of humor, satire, parodies, works for children. So in the autobiographical novel "It's me, called Chemerys ..." we are faced with the tragic fate of our Ukraine, which was seen and experienced by a little boy personally and his relatives and fellow villagers: the Holodomor, World War II, horrible pictures of the then hungry existence of collective farmers, orphans . It strikes with an unimaginable disaster, the scale of which is unimaginable.
