The works of the famous Belarusian writer Mikhail Pozdnyakov always feature optimistic themes — about true love, dreams, happiness, and the manifestation of the best human qualities. They are also in first place in the book “There is Always a Way Out, or Letters from the Past.” Each of the characters is described with warmth and love. Through the destinies of relatives and close people, the author strives to convey to the reader the most important thing — there is nothing more precious to a person than the Motherland, his “place of power” — a protected corner, which is called a small homeland. The new edition includes works from different years. Some are the author’s translations from their native language, others were written specifically for this publication. Some of them tell about the events of the Great Patriotic War, about the courage of Belarusians shown in the fight against the occupiers, and the post-war construction of a new life. The story about contemporaries is based on real events and is autobiographical. The book is not perceived as nostalgia for the past. The writer discusses such simple but important truths: where is your place on Earth, what good can you do for people. The reader has the opportunity to reflect on his purpose, find answers to the questions that concern him.
