The author conceived her work as a synthesis of the long-standing study of classical and post-classical narratology, taking into account the key and recent findings of foreign theoreticians, checking their presence in Slovenian literary studies, in many cases presented them as the first and supplementing them with their own critical reflection linked it with an assessment of the applicability and usefulness of certain categories. For this purpose, individual chapters are complemented by exemplary examples of analyzes of novel passages.
