At all times, the theater was considered the main indicator of the cultural life of the city. The formation of the spiritual culture of the city's residents depends on how many theaters there are in the city, as well as on their repertoire and attendance. Beginning in the mid-1950s, the country's theatrical art experienced an unprecedented rise, and Chelyabinsk was no exception. The monograph reveals the features and specifics of the theatrical life of Chelyabinsk based on materials from the Chelyabinsky Rabochy newspaper. The author analyzed publications from 1953 to 1963 in the main areas: tours, premieres, "theater-factory", ideological work of theaters, portraits of outstanding actors, theater - village and others. The specifics of coverage of various areas are revealed.
