The monograph is devoted to the study of a historical source – the Property Inventory of 1789, compiled after the death of the Ural industrialist A. F. Turchaninov. The Inventory includes information about his library. With the use of modern reference books and on the basis of developed methodology, the identification of the books indicated in the Inventory was carried out and the reconstruction of the library in the form of a catalog was proposed, in which editions of the Cyrillic font and civil press, sheet music, Western European publications and manuscripts were highlighted. This research convincingly proves that the largest noble library in the Urals existed in the Sysert estate in the 18th century. Addressed to historians, bibliologists, culturologists, bibliophiles and everyone interested in the history of books and libraries.
