Author Dvorak Pavel did not have the time to write the final volume of his series The Traces of a Distant Past, as he died unexpectedly in December 2018. His wife, historian Daniela Dvorakova, set out to complete the book series instead. Based on her husband's personal correspondence and literary legacy, she wrote a captivating biography that captures the life and work of Pavel Dvorak during the thirty-four years she spent by his side. Each chapter includes texts by Pavel Dvorak, which were written in the period that a particular chapter deals with. The tenth volume of [...] is thus a joint work of both spouses. It is an intimate statement about love, married life, death and sadness, and at the same time it is a book full of history, thoughts and ideas from the work of Pavel Dvorak. He could no longer write this book himself and yet he is its author. It's his unwritten book.
