The Thracian Question is a dispute over the territory, population and historical heritage of Thrace, a historical region currently shared between Bulgaria, Turkey and Greece. The book explores the emergence and the evolution of the Thracian Question and the Thracian Movement, which was born after the 1878 Treaty of Berlin. The Treaty of Berlin revised the preliminary Treaty of San Stefano following Bulgaria's liberation from Ottoman Turkish rule. As a result of that, Bulgaria lost territories which it would have had under the Treaty of San Stefano. The Thracian Question, along with the Macedonian Question, was at the core of the Ilinden-Preobrazhenie Uprising in 1903 and the Wars for National Unification which Bulgaria fought in the first half of the 20th century.
