The research is concerned with identification of the true age of Tver City as well as with a review of hypothesis about the origin time of Torzhok. Its author makes an attempt to prove the existence of the Krivichi Tver town, located on the mouth of the right Tma River (the present-day T'maka River) in 1015. According to A.V.Zhgutov, the above town is the true forerunner of Tver City.
