"The Theory of Fear" is the story of Teys, a 48-year-old guy who wants to star in stand-up comedy, but suffers from anxiety. He creates his own comedy club Stage Fright Club, on the stage of which he quietly tells his jokes, in front of empty chairs and two cats. Some of Tase's favorite writers also performed on this stage: Daniel Harms, Franz Kafka, Charles Bukowski, Ilf and Petrov, Venedikt Erofeev, Bogumil Grabal, Gabriel García Márquez, Mark Twain, J.D. Salinger, Sylvia Plath, Joan Didion, Virginia Woolf, Gellu Naum, Mihai Eminescu and others. I do stand-up comedy, I write stand-up poetry, I do history. And, sometimes, even stand-up tragedies. The situation is complicated when the virtual doors of the club are opened by force, including the force of love, and Teys has to overcome stage fright. Or not. "The Theory of Fear" is a comedy novel, with the only difference that as the story progresses, fear becomes the main character, and the comedy turns into a drama.
