The neighborhood entered the history of Latvia with the Skirotavas station - the place from where several tens of thousands of Latvian residents were deported to Siberia on June 14, 1941. During the German occupation, countless echelons of Reich Jews from various German cities arrived at the Skirotava station. Skirotava prison was also located in the area for a long time. This book tells about another Skirotava - the one whose Latvian one-story building no longer exists, but whose soul is still alive under the foundations and concrete floors of the twelve-story houses.
