The publication is the result of the long-term work of PhDr. Miroslav Londak, DrSc. In it, the author deals with the economic development in the period that followed the end of the Second World War, while also constantly addressing the political context of the development of the common Czechoslovak state. It is based not only on official statistical data, but documents deposited in Slovak and Czech archives are also a relevant source. The publication also describes the fates of important Slovak economists of the 1960s and glosses the activities of A. Dubcek.
